NUIST-WMO Fellowships: NUIST runs two scholarships for international students, and most people only hear about one of them. The one everyone finds is NUIST’s own Excellent Freshmen Scholarship. It is good, it needs no nomination, and at master’s level it pays no monthly money at all. The one almost nobody writes about is the NUIST-WMO

WMO Fellowships Programme WMO Fellowships: Search for meteorology scholarships and WMO’s name comes up first every time. Then you look for the application form and there isn’t one. That is not an oversight. WMO takes no application from an individual. Its own eligibility rules say applicants must be staff of a National Meteorological and Hydrological

AIPS Fellowships: The name suggests a scholarship for Pakistanis. It is not one, and the misunderstanding costs people weeks every year. The American Institute of Pakistan Studies requires applicants to be enrolled or employed full time at a US academic institution. Its own wording is blunt: applicants not affiliated with a US institution have no

Göttingen’s Tropical and International Forestry closes on 31 October. Both are for a start the following year. So this is not a case of trying one now and the

DAAD EPOS 2027: Most people lose this scholarship before they start, because they look for it in the wrong place. There is no EPOS application form. There is no EPOS deadline. You never write to DAAD at all. EPOS funds a list of selected master’s and doctoral courses at German universities. You apply to one

Tropical Forestry at TU Dresden: Start with the number that changes the conversation. TU Dresden charges no tuition fees. Not a reduced fee, not a waiver you compete for. None. What you pay instead is a semester contribution of roughly €304.50, which covers student services and a public transport ticket for the whole of Saxony.

Erasmus Mundus FLOODRisk 2027: Most Erasmus Mundus programmes hand you one joint degree. FLOODRisk hands you four. Graduates leave with MSc degrees from IHE Delft, TU Dresden, UPC Barcelona and the University of Ljubljana. Four universities, four countries, two years, one application. And the same trap that catches Pakistani applicants on every Erasmus Mundus programme
