Privacy Policy
Last updated: 30 September 2026
This page explains what ScholarWing collects, what it deliberately does not collect, and what happens to the details you type into our free tools. We have written it in plain language rather than legal boilerplate, because a policy nobody reads protects nobody.
The short version
- No account is needed to use anything on this site, and we do not ask you to register.
- The details you type into a document generator are sent to an AI service to produce your draft. We do not save them to a database and we do not build a profile of you.
- Our CGPA calculator runs entirely in your browser. Nothing you enter there leaves your device.
- We use standard analytics to see which pages are read, and advertising may be displayed.
- We never sell your data, and we never ask any student for payment.
1. Who we are
ScholarWing publishes scholarship guidance and free application tools for international students. The site is operated independently and is not affiliated with any university, government or scholarship provider. You can reach us at contact@scholarwing.com.
2. What you give us directly
Two situations put information in our hands.
When you use a document generator. The SOP, personal statement, CV, MOI, cover letter, reference letter, letter of intent, research proposal and motivation letter tools ask for details about your studies and plans. Those details are sent to a third-party AI service, which returns the draft you see. We do not store the text in a database, and we do not attach it to you. Once you close the page, the draft exists only where you saved it.
When you email us. If you write to us, we keep the message in our inbox so we can reply. Nothing more happens to it.
The CGPA calculator and the IELTS and TOEFL practice sections work differently: the calculator and the quizzes run in your browser and send nothing anywhere. Only the AI writing feedback in the practice section involves a request to the AI service, and only for the text you submit.
3. Which AI service processes your text
Our generators use Google’s Gemini API. Your text is sent there to produce the draft and is handled under Google’s terms for that service. We pass only what you typed into the form; we do not send your name to Google unless you typed it into the form yourself, and we attach no identifier that would link the request back to you.
A practical consequence worth stating plainly: do not paste passport numbers, national ID numbers, bank details or anything similar into any tool on this site. No tool here asks for them, and none needs them.
4. What is collected automatically
Like almost every website, our host records standard technical information when a page is requested — IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time. This is used for security and for basic traffic analysis.
We also limit how many documents one visitor can generate in an hour, which requires temporarily noting the requesting IP address. That record expires by itself and exists only to stop automated abuse from running up costs that would force us to charge for the tools.
5. Cookies and analytics
We use analytics to understand which guides are read and where visitors arrive from. This tells us what to write next. Analytics cookies identify a browser, not a person, and we do not combine analytics data with anything you type into a tool.
Advertising served on this site may also set cookies, including by Google and its partners, to show advertisements based on prior visits to this or other websites. You can opt out of personalised advertising at Google Ads Settings, and manage cookies from any site through your browser settings.
6. What we never do
- We do not sell, rent or trade your information.
- We do not build profiles of students or track individuals across the site.
- We do not ask any student for payment, bank details or card numbers. If a message claiming to come from ScholarWing does, it is not from us.
- We do not share your documents with universities, agents or anyone else.
7. Children
This site is written for people applying to university and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, write to us and we will delete it.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask what personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected, or to have it deleted. Since we do not store the contents of your generated documents, there is usually nothing to retrieve. Where we do hold something — an email you sent us, for instance — write to contact@scholarwing.com and we will act on your request.
9. External links
We link to universities, ministries, migration agencies and other websites so you can verify what we publish. Those sites have their own privacy policies, and this one stops at our boundary.
10. Security
The site runs over HTTPS and we apply the usual protections, though no website can promise absolute security. The strongest protection available to you is the one described above: do not enter sensitive identifiers into any online tool, here or elsewhere.
11. Changes to this policy
We will update this page when our practices change, and the date at the top shows the current version. Material changes will be reflected here rather than announced separately.
