Free Scholarship Document Generators
Ten free tools that write the documents scholarship committees actually ask for — a Statement of Purpose, an MOI request, a reference letter your professor can sign, a research proposal, and more. No sign-up, no payment, no word limit.
Most students lose a scholarship on paperwork, not on grades. A committee reads your SOP for roughly two minutes, spots a template it has seen four hundred times, and moves on. These tools take your own details — your degree, your grades, your goal, the scholarship you target — and build each document around them, in the structure the committee expects. Every draft stays yours to edit, and you never pay for any of it.
All 15 Tools
Pick the document you need right now. Each tool asks a short set of questions, then produces a draft you can copy straight into Word.
SOP Generator
Statement of Purpose
Builds a Statement of Purpose around your academic background, research interest and career plan, in the order committees read: why this field, why this country, why this university, and what you do afterwards. Works for DAAD, Chevening, Fulbright, CSC, MEXT, GKS and 20+ other awards.
MOI Generator
Medium of Instruction Certificate
Writes the request letter you hand to your university registrar so they issue an MOI certificate on official letterhead. An MOI often replaces IELTS at universities in Germany, China, Turkey and parts of Europe — which saves you a $250 test fee.
CV Builder
Academic CV
Formats an academic CV the way international committees expect it — education first, research and publications next, then experience, awards and skills. It drops the photo, the date of birth and the marital status that local CV templates still add and that reviewers in Europe and North America treat as a red flag.
Cover Letter Generator
Application Cover Letter
Produces a one-page cover letter addressed to the admissions office or the scholarship secretariat, tying your profile to the specific programme you name. It stays under 400 words, because longer letters rarely get read to the end.
Reference Letter Generator
Letter of Recommendation
Creates a fully structured reference letter your professor or employer can review, edit and sign. Busy referees often ask you for a draft — this gives you one that already names specific courses, projects and grades instead of generic praise.
Research Proposal Generator
Master's & PhD Research Proposal
Lays out a proposal with the sections reviewers look for: background, problem statement, objectives, methodology, expected outcomes and a timeline. Most rejected proposals fail on methodology, so the tool pushes you to state your method plainly.
Personal Statement Generator
UK, US & European Applications
Writes a personal statement in the narrative style UK and US universities prefer — your story first, your evidence second. It differs from an SOP: a personal statement leans on motivation and character, while an SOP leans on academic plans.
Letter of Intent Generator
Research Programmes
Drafts a short, direct letter of intent for research programmes and supervisor outreach. Keeps to one page and states your research area, your fit with the supervisor's work, and your funding plan.
Motivation Letter Generator
Erasmus, Europe & Asia
Produces the motivation letter European and Asian scholarships ask for, which sits closer to a personal statement than an SOP. It handles the Erasmus Mundus habit of asking why you chose that specific consortium and those specific mobility countries.
IELTS & TOEFL Practice Test
Reading, Writing, Vocabulary, Grammar, Speaking
Five full-length Academic Reading passages with 65 questions and a 20-minute timer, 213 academic vocabulary words, 50 grammar questions with explanations, AI feedback on your writing, and speaking cue cards. Scores here indicate where you stand; only an official test produces a band.
Email Draft Generator
Emails to Professors & Admissions
Writes the email a professor actually answers: short, opening with their own research rather than your enthusiasm, and asking one question they can reply to in a line. Nine types, from a first cold email to a follow-up after silence, plus two subject lines each.
Offer Acceptance Letter
The Letter You Send Back
Writes the formal reply you send a university after an offer: accepting, accepting with conditions still outstanding, accepting a scholarship, declining politely, or asking to defer. It never produces a document in a university's name, and the page explains how to check that an offer you received is genuine.
CGPA Calculator
GPA, CGPA & Scale Converter
Works out semester GPA and cumulative CGPA the way universities do — weighted by credit hours, not by averaging your semesters. Converts between the 4.0, 5.0 and 10.0 scales, and tells you the GPA you need in your remaining credits to reach a target, including when that target is no longer reachable. Runs entirely in your browser.
Before you send
Two tools that check what you have written, instead of writing it for you.
CV Reviewer
Upload your CV and get it back marked up — which lines to fix, what to delete, and what a committee expects to see that is missing. Reads PDF and Word files inside your browser.
Email Reviewer
Paste the email you were about to send a professor. Checks your subject line, your opening, whether you named anything specific, and whether there is a clear request a busy person can answer.
Which Document Does Your Scholarship Need?

How These Tools Work
Every generator follows the same four steps, and the whole process takes about ten minutes per document.
- Answer the questionsYour degree, grades, field, target country and the scholarship you apply for. Specific answers produce specific drafts.
- Name your evidenceAdd the project, thesis, job or volunteer role that proves your claim. A draft without evidence reads like every other draft.
- Generate the draftThe tool structures everything into the format the committee expects, and returns it in seconds.
- Edit in your own voiceChange the phrasing until it sounds like you. Reviewers notice language that does not match the rest of your file.
Why We Keep These Free
Agents and consultants across South Asia and Africa charge $100 to $500 to type the same documents, and they usually reuse one template for every client. That pricing pushes out exactly the students these scholarships exist for. ScholarWing runs on free guides, free tools and a public Q&A community instead, so a student with a strong profile and no budget competes on the same footing as one who paid. We charge nothing for any tool on this page, and we ask for no account.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do these tools cost anything?
No. All thirteen run free, with no account, no trial and no card. We never gate a document behind a payment.
Will a committee detect AI in my document?
Committees increasingly screen for it, which is exactly why you edit the draft. Rewrite a substantial share in your own words, add details only you know, and the document reads as yours — because by then it is.
What separates an SOP from a personal statement?
An SOP explains your academic plan: what you study, why there, and what follows. A personal statement explains you: the experiences that shaped your choice. UK and US applications usually want the second; European and Asian ones usually want the first.
Does an MOI certificate really replace IELTS?
Sometimes. Many universities in Germany, China, Turkey and Hungary accept it when your degree ran in English, and plenty of others refuse it. Confirm with the specific university before you skip the test.
Can I use the reference letter draft directly?
Your referee signs it, so they decide. Give them the draft as a starting point — most professors welcome that — and let them change whatever they want. Never submit a reference your referee has not read.
Do you store what I type?
See our privacy policy for how we handle the information you enter and how long anything stays.
Which tool should I start with?
Start with the CV builder. It forces you to list every qualification, project and award in one place, and every other document then draws on that list.
