ITM Antwerp Global One Health
If a site told you to apply for the MSc in Global One Health at ITM Antwerp, stop.
ITM’s own course page carries the words “Closed for applications”. The same page rules out any intake in 2028 while the curriculum undergoes revision, and promises to announce future intakes later. ITM’s full course listing confirms it: both editions sit under “Closed for applications”, the 2025 one and the 2028 one.
So there is nothing to apply to, and there will be nothing in 2028 either.
This matters because the programme is still listed as open on scholarship aggregators, and because it changed its name. It used to be the MSc in Tropical Animal Health, so searches land on old pages describing an old course under an old title.

What the programme was, for when it returns
Worth knowing, because ITM promises future intakes without naming a date.
A two-year blended master’s worth 60 ECTS, combining on-campus and online study on a flexible path, run with the University of Pretoria in South Africa. Fees on the page at the time of checking were €5,775 for EEA students and €11,745 for non-EEA students, with a note that the 2028 figure might change and that Pretoria’s fees may differ.
Note the second number. Nearly €12,000 for a non-EEA student makes a scholarship the only realistic route for most Pakistani applicants, and ITM says only that it runs a scholarship programme for selected students from low-resource settings.
What ITM actually has open
Two master’s programmes, both with a 15 January 2027 deadline, both running September 2027 to July 2028.
| Programme | Dates | Deadline |
|---|---|---|
| MSc in Public Health | 06/09/27 – 06/07/28 | 15 January 2027 |
| MSc in Tropical Medicine | 06/09/27 – 06/07/28 | 15 January 2027 |
If One Health was your target, Tropical Medicine is the closer fit, and Public Health suits anyone heading toward policy, programmes or a ministry.
Several shorter courses are also open, including Tropical Medicine and Clinical Decision Making closing 1 November 2026, and a Short Course in Clinical Research and Evidence-Based Medicine closing 13 December 2026. For a working professional who cannot leave a post for two years, a short course at ITM is a real credential rather than a consolation.

If One Health is genuinely your field
The work sits where human health, animal health and the environment meet, which is exactly where Pakistan’s zoonotic problems live: brucellosis in dairy herds, rabies control, avian influenza surveillance, antimicrobial resistance moving between poultry and people.
While ITM’s programme sleeps, the funded routes worth chasing sit in Germany. Our DAAD EPOS guide covers a scheme that funds 41 courses across agriculture, environment and health for applicants with two years of work experience, and several of them touch this ground.
Start the groundwork now rather than waiting for an announcement. Two years of documented work experience, a clean transcript with a grading scale, and a current reference letter take months to assemble, and they transfer to any of these applications. Our free CV builder handles the Europass format most European programmes expect, and our guide on asking a professor for a reference letter covers getting a fresh one.
How to check this yourself
This post exists because of one line on one page, and you can read that line as easily as we did.
Open the funder’s own course page, not a scholarship blog. Look for a status line. ITM prints “Closed for applications” at the top of the course. Many universities print “applications open” with dates beside it.
Then open the institution’s full course listing. ITM publishes every course with its status in one table, which is how we confirmed that both editions sit closed rather than just one.
Check the name. A renamed programme leaves years of outdated pages behind it. Tropical Animal Health became Global One Health, and most of the writing about it still carries the old title.
Then write and ask. ITM’s programme address is MSCGOH@itg.be. One email settles in a day what a blog cannot tell you at all.

Eligibility criteria
ITM’s course page does not publish eligibility, required degree, work experience or English requirements for this programme, linking instead to general pages. We print none of them rather than guessing, which also means that if a site is showing you a confident requirements list for this course, it did not get it from ITM.
For the two open ITM master’s, confirm the requirements directly with ITM before 15 January.
Step-by-step, if you want an ITM route
Step 1: decide between Public Health and Tropical Medicine. Both close 15 January 2027.
Step 2, this week: email ITM for the entry requirements, the fee and the scholarship rules for your chosen programme.
Step 3, this week: ask about the scholarship programme for students from low-resource settings. ITM mentions it without publishing the criteria, so the only way to know is to ask.
Step 4, November: sort your English evidence and request your transcript with its grading scale.
Step 5, November and December: write the motivation. Our personal statement guide covers building it around a problem you have actually worked on.
Step 6: submit before 15 January, not on it.
Step 7, separately: set a reminder for mid-2027 to check whether Global One Health has announced a new intake.
