Sweden’s scheme selects on what you will change at home. The other six are general national schemes where you pick an environmental programme and compete against every other field. Knowing which kind you are applying to changes what you write.

The CSC takes no direct applications. You must also apply through a nominating agency, and the agency’s own closing date usually falls earlier. If you have not started with your nominator, treat this round as closed and plan for the next one.

What to write, and for whom. Sweden’s scheme judges what you will change when you go home, so your application is about impact. The six national schemes judge you against applicants from every other field, so your application has to explain why an environmental place is worth funding at all. The same CV wins one and loses the other. Dates here come from each funder’s own page, and you should still confirm before you apply, because a funder can move a date without announcing it.
